Delete Your Account & Data

At Splitwisely, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can delete your account and all associated data, what gets deleted, and how long the process takes.

1. How to Delete Your Account

Option A: Delete from Within the App

  1. Open the Splitwisely app and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm.
  5. Re-authenticate using your Google account or email/password.
  6. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.

Option B: Request Deletion via Email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by sending an email to splitwisely@dksdev.com from the email address associated with your Splitwisely account. Please include:

2. What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:

Data TypeAction Taken
Account & Profile Your user profile (name, email, phone number, profile photo) is permanently deleted.
Self Expenses All personal expense entries you created for your own tracking are permanently deleted.
Custom Categories All custom expense categories you created are permanently deleted.
Friendships All friend connections involving your account are permanently removed.
Pending Friend Requests All pending friend invitations you sent are permanently deleted.
Blocked Users Your blocked users list is permanently deleted.
Reminders All reminders involving your account are permanently deleted.
Group Membership You are removed from all groups. Groups themselves are not deleted as they may contain data shared with other members.
Push Notification Token Your device notification token is removed from our servers.
Authentication Credentials Your Firebase Authentication account is permanently deleted.
This action is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, we cannot recover your data. Please make sure you have settled any outstanding balances with your groups and friends before proceeding.

3. Data Retained After Deletion

Shared group expenses that you participated in may still be visible to other group members for their record-keeping purposes, but your personal identifiable information will no longer be associated with those records. Groups you were part of are not deleted, as they belong to all members collectively.
